Resolving Agribusiness Disputes Through Arbitration & Mediation

Legal disputes are all too common in the business and agriculture worlds, but how those disputes are resolved can determine the difference between profit and loss. At Barrett, Easterday, Cunningham & Eselgroth, LLP, we employ a wide range of dispute-resolution techniques to seek efficient and cost-effect resolutions for our clients. A disagreement does not have to be a major setback. We will put our considerable skill and experience to work for you, and help you put this dispute behind you for good.

Arbitration

Arbitration can be cheaper, faster and easier than taking a matter to court. Farmers, agricultural producers and agribusinesses can use the National Grain and Feed Association Arbitration System to resolve disputes through arbitration so long as at least one party to the dispute is a member of the association. Attorney David C. Barrett served as the administrator of that system for more than 10 years. He and our experienced team of lawyers understand how to get maximum results through the arbitration process, whether through an industry system or other arbitration process.

Mediation

Mediation is another "alternative dispute resolution" option that we use at Barrett, Easterday, Cunningham & Eselgroth, LLP. Like arbitration, mediation is more efficient and cost-effective than courtroom litigation. In the mediation process, disputing parties sit down at the negotiating table with an impartial third party who helps them reach a resolution. Attorney Jeff Easterday is a trained mediator. Our lawyers can help you in that process by acting as the mediator, or through advocate representation, fighting on your behalf.

Litigation

We try to save our clients the time and expense of courtroom litigation whenever possible, but sometimes it is the only way to resolve a dispute. We are seasoned courtroom advocates and are always prepared to go to trial on a client's behalf. Whether your dispute is over agriculture contracts or trust litigation, we are fully equipped to stand up for your rights in court. We are nationally recognized voices on agribusiness matters and can represent you in courts throughout Ohio and the United States. We often work with local counsel when a case involves litigation outside of Ohio.
